Developed a plan in 1993 called IBM Blueprint 2000. The basis of the plan was IBM’s SAA and AD/Cycle explained through a discovered concept called the paradigm of threes. When IBM reviewed the white binders, they compared the work to a room full of geniuses that had been locked up for years. He is often rumored to be in line for the CEO position at IBM. Sam Palmisano tried to hire him in 2010 as his successor, but didn't. He was considered as a successor to Ginny Rometty in 2019, but then got caught up in legal issues. Since then, IBM has focused almost exclusively on areas of AI. Voris tried for 27 years to get a position at IBM, but gave up after 2019. However, his research and extrapolation of IBM technology confirms the paradigm of threes and its connection to AI and 4IR. Perhaps you will notice some of the shadowing effects of his research efforts.
Never returned
You're in heaven now. I just wish I had got to thank you in person for pushing me so hard and doing more than anyone I have ever known to tame the talent in me. They forgot to mention your suppport for gay marriage. That forever changed the world and opened up the possibility for gay leadership within the Fortune 500's.
Smaller, Faster, Smarter
In 1989 Voris incorporated CASE Technologies. He approached IBM with the idea. Soon after AD/Cycle was announced. CASE was the application of AI to the software development life cycle, too far ahead of its time.
In 1993 IBM was completely overwhelmed by Voris. Here are a sampling of some of the letters. He assumed the position as acting president and kept telling the company what to do. When Lou came in he had to make the comment the last thing IBM needs is a vision to get intellectual control away from Voris.
Shadowing effects
A sketch of the first AI optical ternary chip design, circa 1996. An extrapolation using IBM Power PC as a baseline.
Many at IBM consider Voris to be the most advanced AI computer scientist in existence. While he is not formally associated with IBM, his AI perspectives have a staggering impact in the computer industry. All IBM Fellows live in the shadow of William T. Voris.

Voris didn't like it. There goes my job.
"Beyond tomorrow, optical supercomputers with dynamic reconfigurability, cybernetic sentient androids and dreams, plans and vision are all alive and well in the hearts, lives and imagination of IBMers everywhere. At IBM we stand ready, challenged and committed to providing the finest computers, whether PC's servers or mainframes. the largest software portfolio and the services to solve any information technology problem. Yes, the leader in computer technolgy is back, IBM" The IBM Vision - 1993 - William T. Voris
